B. albopilosum
Sold as a Honduran Curly Hair (B. albopilosum) - is it actually a Honduran variety/form or perhaps Nicaraguan or Costa Rican?
And, how do you tell the variety differences apart?
There's only two variants in the hobby, Nicaraguan and Honduran. Yours is a Nicaraguan for certain and definitely not Honduran.

Unmistakably Nicaraguan, and you should be happy, because my subjective opinion is they are much cooler looking (read floofy) than Hondurans. I have both, so I’m not being partial in that respect.

Need to get my " Curly Hair Tarantula" properly identified. When I got her she had a sac with her, but was gobbled up. Anyways are most B. Albo dark like this. Guess I need to compare the two side by side. Great picture and lovely looking tarantula you have.

@MissouriArachnophile There are some comparative pictures posted in the gallery, and some threads. However, the general differences are; Hondurans tend to have a lighter coloration than Nicaraguans, almost brown vs. black. Hondurans also generally have shorter and less curly setae.

I tried to take some pics on my old camera I need to pull a couple off and post, from the description you gave seems like the one i have is Honduran. I will add it in a few.

Thank you all for the knowledge, now I need to update my labels “Tuco” has just recently molted just shy of a month ago and ate her/his first meal since then yesterday. I find her to be an awesome And most enjoyable T.
