Lives in a burrow like other mygla's but has fangs that face each other and ballooning slings, truly unique spider. This is the Eastern Mouse Spider, or Missulena Bradleyi. Immature female
@RezonantVoid when you say modern do you mean it is a 'true' spider? can't tell from the pic vut it certainly looks like a mygalomorph(spelling?) to me. (looks like the fangs would move parallel to the main axis of the body rather than perpendicular to it which i thought was one of the primary identifiers...) Either way, very cool!
