I posted a pic of this girl in the sexing portion of the forum the other day and a kind person informed me this may not be a T. Stirmi. I couldn't figure out how to reply to my original post with a new picture in the comments so I am posting here.
@Ultum4Spiderz I don't keep up with the market value of various tarantula species so I couldn't tell you if a female E. uatuman would have the same retail price as a Theraphosa stirmi. In my opinion this is a situation where a mislabeling works out for the better. Ephebopus species are far more interesting than any of the Theraphosa species.
For the sake of saying so, Ephebopus species need deep damp substrate to burrow. They are in the "pet hole" category of tarantula behavior. They will build big funnels out of silk and dirt at the entrance of their burrows.
@NYAN it’s generally all pet stores carry , real shame but they couldn’t care for and breed a T to Save there life . I’ve seen them with crickets jumping all over. Stores quit keeping them near me maybe no one bought em.
