Found in the wild (about 2 inches chelicera to spinneret), southern California (near Santa Barbara). For a second I thought it was A. hentzi, but I need a second opinion haha. Thanks in advance!
Though it looks very similar to hentzi, I'm fairly sure their official range is limited to south central states from New Mexico to Missouri. The US native bunch of the Aphonopelma genus almost all look exactly the same plus or minus some color variants. Furthermore, the species are all pretty mixed up it seems. I'd say that A. iodius is much more likely especially considering that the color seems to match the "standard" color pattern of that species..

this is aphonopelma eutylenum. iodius doesnt occur in coastal socal, gotta cross over into interior chaparral/desert for iodius down here
