G. acteon - juvenile female- fresh molt DLS ~5.5"
To me that looks more like iheringi, actually.

1. she has that typical iheringi hair whirl - actaeon doesn't have it. (Although yours looks weird and 'disorderly' ;))
2. the setae on the legs seem brown-ish? actaeon has grey/black setae, iheringi brown.

It does have a very large mirror spot (actaeon has a larger mirror spot than iheringi) and the colors don't look quite as bright as your typical iheringi - could that possibly be a hybrid? I've heard from one breeder, who specializes in Grammostola spp., that you can hybridize actaeon and iheringi and it may happen more often than people think because males look nearly the same and are very hard to tell apart even for experienced breeders.

I thought it looked more like “iheringi”.

At that size does the acteon setae on abdomen not start turning black?

In all honesty, I cannot say its NOT a hybrid. I bought it as iheringi, a sling. and it looked like iheringi until ONE molt. See below here for what she used to look like. She went from cherry red to this rust color in ONE molt. When this new color appeared I contacted Netbugs as she has pure iheringi. I told her when and who I bought the Ts from (Stamp's Tarantulas). Netbugs said around that time Stamp and another vendor who went in on a shipment together from Europe I believe, bought acteon, but they turned out not to be.

Here's her pic when she was GORGEOUS. I love the cherry red- oh well.

Let me know what you two think. @KezyGLA @boina
