@Braving my Fears I can recommend them to anyone, they are docile, not skittish, not bolty, great eaters and easy to keep (get a hide, deep substrate and a waterdish). ^^ They are slow growers though so you're gonna have the same sized Tarantula for a while, which is good if you want to get used to bigger Tarantulas slowly.
(my sling is hiding at the moment so they do just burrow themselves when in premolt, so you won't see them for a while, but don't dig them out, they need to take their time. :>)
