Maevia inclemens
Any Idea what this is? the size is small, about a quarter inch or possibly smaller, this photo was taken as a close up with a 55-mm lens.
Noting also that it can move quite fast, I'm thinking one of the wolf spiders, as it was found in Texas.
 
I can tell you it’s a Salticid and not a Lycosid, but other than that I’m not familiar with the species.
 
@Sarkhan42 That would seem to make alot of sense given the movement I obseved- I was thinking Lycosid due to the markings. Noting that the Red in the abdomen wasn't apparent until after I'd taken the photo and adjusted the exposure.
