Yeah it does seem strange, my first thought was female too, but some guys said male on my wet photo and posted a pic of how a normal female LP spermathacae looks with the two bulbs that protrude off it, so now I'm really lost lol
Yeah I was a little confused at your certainty it was male, but often in pictures it's difficult to tell what's going on, especially at such detail and the reflections from the flash didn't help. I had the benefit of viewing it in person too. It was bought as a female but this was it's first molt with me so I'm keen to confirm it.
@KezyGLA Can you confirm that the picture above your post is in fact of an LP? Maybe it's just the photo or I'm not yet familiar enough with them when they're that size, but to me that looks really dark for an LP
@PidderPeets In the LP the spermathecae are behind a rather large uterus externus. Usually the uterus is crumpled and you see the spermathecae but in this case it seems to be fully spread out, obscuring the spermathecae. That's still an LP
@boina Oh okay. My LP has been impossible for me to molt sex so far, so I only have other people's images and drawings for reference. I've never been able to see it for myself. Thanks for the explanation
