He’s curling I’m afraid. He was nearly dead when I got him home. I suspect because he was put in a cricket tub with no padding. If he dies I will be taking him back to complain.
@Trincess I also wouldn't give up just yet, he could be dehydrated I would place his mouth parts into a water dish or turn him upside down and carefully drip a few drops of water with a syringe
If this is a wild-caught chalcodes, there's a couple of things you need to know. I'm writing to you from New River, Arizona, chalcodes central. The vast majority of chalcoded available have been wild caught. You do not know when this occurred. You do not know if your spider just got off an international flight and what kind of care it has had. Let her adjust to being in a new space. You've changed her water, you've seen her get a drink. Do nothing else. It's 2:38 in the afternoon here, which means you need to do night stuff and go to bed.
Chances are she was cold and dehydrated. If she dies, take her back and insist on a refund. Don't get a new spider of the same variety from the same store, as you may have the same problem.
If she lives, and I'm betting she will, do as little as possible. Don't feed her. We just had our first hundred degree day, which means chalcodes are just now waking up and starting to sniff around for their first meal in five months.
