"Take a good look at him, cricket, because that's how you're gonna end up!... Crickets are finished, you understand me?! I see six legs, I kill the bug kickin' 'em! So run, cricket... RUN! Tell all the other crickets A.Genic's coming! You tell 'em I'M coming... and Hell's coming with me, you hear ..." Adapted from Tombstone, 1993.
Hey Grym, Why have you changed over to topsoil? And what from? I’m genuinely interested, I’m always after improvement tips.
I’ve been trying to learn more about substrates and how they effect different T’s, I was reading the T keepers guide by Schultz & Schultz and they weren’t particularly complimentary about any of the commonly used subs. xxxxx
@TeddyBearTarantula Mainly for aesthetic and cost reasons, topsoil looks natural and it's only £3 for a 35L bag of the stuff (which is great when you have 50 enclosures to fill). I used to use a peat/coco fibre/vermiculite mix which was fine, its just that it costs 4x as much to make up the same amount. I actually mix the topsoil with my old mix as straight topsoil is pretty heavy and it helps to bring the weight down a little.
