Took her out for a stroll (in a box) while changing substrate. She's smaller than I thought, around 5.5". (~14cm) Despite her size she had about 50 offspring.
S. hainanum. I know you like this color scheme, but let me tell you: They are defensive, aggressive, and sneaky, and in no way as friendly as the galapagoensis/gigantea they superficially resemble. The bite is many times worse as well. Still, they remain one of my favorite 'pedes due to their cool, calculated temperaments and somewhat evil intelligence.
I do have ~150 plings from 2 unrelated mothers if you are interested still!
@LawnShrimp Maybe not for a first centipede, considering they still wig me out a little-- the legs, it's all the legs-- but good to know for the future! What's the adult size on them?
