Sericopelma generala

MF going for a drink
Time to change my label, I thought generalum was the more current name. My female is also over 6 inches, she rivals my pamphs in bulk and size.

@boina So their different sp. well knock me down with a feather, these name changes are getting out of control, I just posted in a similar thread.

@boina I did look it back up as I thought that it was the old name but then I found that generala is back being the correct one, really would wish they would pick one.

Quite interesting case,
C.E. Valerio erroneously considered Brachypelma and Sericopelma to be feminines, but they are neuters (like all other genera with -pelma ending). So he described species like Brachypelma albopilosa, Brachypelma fossoria, Sericopelma ferruginea or Sericopelma immensa. As these examples are adjectives, they were simply changed by later authors to fit genus name. Problem arises when origin and category of name is unclear, like generala. Someone thought it is adjective too, so they tried to correct it, creating a bit mess.
BTW does anybody here have access to original article through WSC ?
