Avicularia Treehouse
The treehouse we built for Skyler, my female Avicularia avicularia. She has been living in the treehouse for two years and seems to be very comfortable.
This setup makes feeding a lot easier, since you can easily put a feeder insect in the treehouse while the tarantula is in there. (In my vertical setup, there were a lot of misses that resulted in the cricket being on the ground, where an Avic would never find it.)

love the creativity! Keep us updated with pictures as time goes on with her in the enclosure. I'm really interested to see how this turns out

@Trenor The foam covers hard, pointy vines that stick up in the air. They are a safety feature so that in the unlikely event of a fall, she does not impale herself.

@Dustin Amack Yes. I put a layer of it beneath the substrate as padding in the event of a fall.

When I set up this enclosure, I was paranoid about falls, because I had seen her repeatedly fall from the smooth plastic lid in the Kritter Keeper she came in. If I were setting up a new Avic enclosure, I would not bother with that extra safety measure. :embarrassed:
