Here we go my male Monocentropus balfouri Benjermin here Running that guantlet locking up successful pairing. Tempted to keep the whole sack from this for a communal one of my fav species GO TEAM BALFOURI !
The females are usually very gentle and rarely attack the males. I have had MM balfs cohabit in numerous AF enclosures.
On a side note regarding communal....I have also done this from sacmates and what I tend to find is that all goes well until the males mature. Remember that males mature more quickly than females so you have MMs looking for some balfouri sexy time and the only option they have is to "pester" their sexually immature sisters.
I tend to break up communals at large juvenile stage for that reason, put into.smaller.grups to help.sex and also have other non related specimens at different ages to avoid in breedi g ater on.
That's just my experience, I believe others have kept sac mates without issues.
Obviously the issue with a communal set up is you don't know which moult belongs to which spider and so the only obvious differential, is when the males mature.
Don't want to pee on your chips, just being realistic, bit I am inclined to agree that there is nothing more spectacular than seeing a big communal
