Aphonopelma chalcodes and a rather beautiful one 😍 nice find 😊 but please be careful she can boogie when she wants to and I wouldn't want her to be hurt from fall damage from being held .

Picked her up from my ladies brother in law, and she was housed so terribly. Got her in to a nice setup appropriate for her, and she just graced us with a molt, after 4 months of refusing food 🥰. Quite striking fresh after her molt, just wasn't sure with how drastic her color change was after the molt, only her front two sets of legs and carapace stayed that pretty blonde, back two sets are almost jet black, so I had to ask. I appreciate the input. Oh, and that handling was just while she was rehoused right when we brought her home, I don't normally do so, but she walked right up on to my hand when I opened her enclosure all sorts of curious, so I let her just keep walking and guided her in to the new home. 😁

Aww that's great my af chalcodes took 15 months from refusing food to moulting so you were definitely lucky with such a short moult cycle. I am glad you aren't handling I hate trying to tell anyone what to do but she's to beautiful to fall , I have a soft spot for chalcodes. They are stunning t's imo and my girl did the exact same thing went from bright blonde to a brunette after her moult and I did the same thing first double checked she was female even though I knew she was (the males of this sp are almost black when mature) then checked spermatheca reference pics to make sure she was a chalcodes so don't worry I totally understand being thrown by the colour change. (There's actually a pic of before and after of my girl on here somewhere) I must wish yous both well and the best of luck 😊 she's definitely a looker 🥰
