Dolichothele sp.

In pet trade, they are known as D. rufoniger.
Any explanations about these?
Why just in pet trade?
Etc...
Described D. rufoniger is not blue/purple, actually, it is not blue/purple at all. I don't know what this is, but it ain't D. rufoniger for sure and I don't know how they were spread as D. rufoniger ib pet trade, but they were.

Well, colour isn't the best feature. But sometimes it can be the first hint.
I'm afraid there is a great mess in the pet trade, especially in the genus Dolichothele.
In the case of the so called "mineirum" i got fortunatly enough usefull material to show the fault.

I know, man. But in this scenario, the "blue rufoniger" was already checked and it didnt match with the "described rufoniger", this blue one might be a new species.

D. mineirum has the same problem, I don't know how things are in Germany but around here, there are two individuals named as D. mineirum, and both of them dont match the D. mineirum description.

Agree 100%. Since I'm a hobbyst, I keep my specimens labeled as they come to me. But I'm well aware about this mess, unfortunately. Lol.

I, once, ordered D. dufoniger in the European import. I was expecting purple spider, like most of the pictures shows. Asked my importer about confusing pictures i saw (some rufoniger were purple, some orange with black). He messaged his exporter in Europe. Next day he texted me and said, that this person in Europe who prepares export orders said, that wild cut rufoniger were purple, but in captivity they turn orange with black and off springs also orange with black. That's what i was told.
