I found this tarantula in the Arizona forest back in 2014. My dad shared this picture with me today since I got into Ts since then and I’m also camping there again.
Proper identification of American tarantulas starts with where they are found because there are many that look exactly the same. Where specifically in Arizona was this one found?
The Prescott national forest. I’m guessing near the same time of year as I never recalled going on a hunt any sooner than October. Surprisingly I can’t find a thing despite it still being somewhat warm in the middle of the day.

That’s awesome I hope I can come across another one while I’m here! Do you think they would wander at all day or night with how cold it’s getting? High 30s - 70 ish
