Sold as A. Chalcodes, molted into this?? Any clues?
It isn’t unusual for any of the American tarantulas to change color, sometimes drastically, after a molt. What did it look like before?

Looked like your typical Chalcodes, honestly. I have no idea how to put a before pic on here, but typical Chalcodes juvenile from other pics and videos I've seen.

In that case it probably is an A. chalcodes that changed color. Unfortunately you will have to wait another year or two until it molts again and I bet it changes its color back to the typical blonde coloration. If you have had this tarantula for more than one molt and it has always been blonde, and this darker coloration is new, then you can be reasonably certain the dark color is just a fluke.
