Sold as H. Maculata

I would appreciate very much if you could identify it please! I think its Stromatopelma Calceatum.
Hell, now I'm a little more scared because the Calceatum is worse from what I saw.
Is there any way to know If It is a male or a female? Or i need to wait until It molt?
You can try to get a photo of the underside of the spider up against the glass. I'd be happy to give my opinion ventral sexing it for you. Of course the most accurate way of finding out would be to look at the tarantula's most recent molt. They are considered one of the most venomous tarantula species, not sure what your experience level is. You'd definitely want to use caution, but as long as you respect the spider's space, don't stick your bare fingers in the enclosure, and have common sense, you might be fine. If you're concerned, it might be a good idea to read the bite reports on this site. I have a juvenile female and she's very, very skittish but not necessarily outright aggressive. I have heard of people that do have more defensive individuals though, so it depends.

The problem is that I have a terrarium that is made of wood and the front part is a mesh door, so it is a bit impossible for me to take a photo from below, even so I will wait for the molt. My level of experience is practically beginner, I have this tarantula and an Aphonopelma Seemanni. I bought the Calceatum at the last minute, since at first I was going to buy the Seemanni and a Hysterocrates Gigas, but the seller told me that she lost 3 legs in a change and offered me a Maculata which seems to be a calceatum, and the which I accepted without thinking, I didn't even know it was arboreal and I had to improvise a lot. Even so, I have been able to verify that she is very calm and skittish, if I pass from her, she passes from me, in fact the seemanni is more defensive at first glance, she is the one that has given me the most problems. Even so I plan to continue having her and give her a good life, maybe it is not a very good idea but I think that being so shy and calm it will not give me many problems

If you're going to keep the tarantula, then just really make sure to research the species so that you're prepared. Also, expect the unexpected. These spiders are extremely fast so if you do rehousings, make sure that you do it in a safe, enclosed area. And always make sure that you know exactly where the spider is inside the enclosure before you open the door or do any maintenance. I'm sure you know this already, but this is also definitely not a tarantula that you'd ever want to handle. Be aware that their behavior can also change after a molt, so don't take any unnecessary risks. They are stunning, beautiful tarantulas though. Mine is one of my favorites.

Also, you might want to get a different enclosure. Tarantulas can easily chew through mesh! Or get their legs stuck and potentially die. This is a species that you definitely don't want loose in your house. Give these spiders a lot of upright cork bark hiding places to retreat to. If they have a place to hide you're much less likely to see aggressive behavior. Mine is a juvenile and I currently have her in an Exo Terra mini which seems to work well. I plan on moving her to an Exo Terra Mini Tall enclosure when she gets larger. I'd look at some examples online so you can get a better idea. This species loves to hide and is very reclusive.

And, of course, it's completely up to you about whether or not you plan on keeping her. Just make sure to do some in depth reading first. This is typically considered one of the most advanced species. Their care isn't particularly difficult, but the strength of their venom and often defensive behavior is definitely something to carefully consider.

I could certainly change the enclosure, but I think it would be very risky to move it because of its speed and not yet know how to even deal with a kind of normal speed. Even so I must say that for the main thing it seems that it loves to stay in the whole middle of the mesh, it usually puts itself in the center or on the sides and stays there or goes around the terrarium until the sun comes up. Today I bought him a large log of cork, which tomorrow I am going to put in the oven to clean it well in case it has mites. I am very grateful to you for having resolved the doubt that it is a Calceatum and not a Maculata, so I can give it the correct care and handle it in a good way.

You have the perfect beginner tarantula and on the other end of the spectrum you got one of the most defensive and toxic tarantulas in the hobby… I kinda respect that. I think you will be okay just use common sense don’t go trying to handle it.
best of luck to ya.
