In my experience, there is little to no way to identify or tell apart P. irminia and P. cambridgei as slings. I've own both species and there is almost no difference in-between the two as small slings. The only way to be sure is to let it grow out and see what it becomes. Unless I'm wrong, I don't think there is a way to tell them apart as slings.
Well... only one way to settle this. After its next molt I think we’ll have more of an idea. Hopefully op will report back and give us update. If I’m wrong I’m wrong, and the world continues to go on haha.
Well seeing and breeding the two species around the same time. There was a clear difference between irminia & cambridgei 2nd instars which help determine the two species apart. & That is the carapace coloration, irminia have a pink carapace while cambridgei have a dark (green) carapace coloration. However, irminia's carapace starts to darken with each molt from a molt or 2 on, becoming more and more identical to cambridgei's carapace coloration. Therefore it's very difficult to tell apart once 4th instar and beyond until adult colors set in. If this is/were a 2nd instar then yes I would have to put good money on cambridgei. If it is 3rd or even 4th instar I'd be less and less confident of the carapace coloration identifier.
