I just love this species. I always feel a sense of awe when my girl goes cruising around at night. Photos can't really capture just how incredible it is to see such a massive, beautiful spider in person.

I sneak a peak with either a UV or red light torch so don't disturb them, and then use the small amount of light they emit to get a decent frame of what I want to photograph.
I am done before they realise what has happened so as you say, completely natural behaviour is observed. I then have to tear myself away to get to bed ha ha
