Pet shop has it labeled as “black fire bird eater”. Google says that equals P petersi. I know there can be color variation, and that Pamphos are a mess, but does this specimen look like petersi?
It looks like it may have had a recent molt, and the shop didn’t have any Latin name on hand from their source for it either. Just “black fire bird eater”.
Looks like my P. antinous, except that mine never had yellow stripes on the knees. I've never seen a Pampho with yellow stripes on the knees, either. No idea what that is.
this is a Pamphobeteus sp. from the loreto region, Peru. sometimes mixed up with another Pamphobeteus sp which is called "petersi", especially here in germany.
