One thing I've always admired about them is that they're some of the most resilient creatures on this planet. The harsh environment that they live in, the ability to go without food for literally years, it amazes me. They're survivors and thrive in an environment where most animals would die within hours or days. I think it's amazingly cool.

I love them, but my 20-year old G. porteri is the definition of a pet rock, haha. On very special days she turns around 180° . She's definitely interested whenever I fill the water dish though and suddenly turns very inquisitive. I love her!
