Getting Ready To Sex Scolopendra dehaani (Vietnamese Giant Centipede)

In the process of knocking it out....

Edit: It's a Male.
I know nothing about centipedes... what’s exactly going on here?
Okay, so in order to sex a Centipede, you need to look at its sexual parts, which are located in between the terminal legs on its last body segment. If it were conscious while I popped out its sexual organs, I would get bit, which is something I don't ever want to experience (especially with this species). So you have to make them unconscious, and there are two ways you can do this. One way is to use CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) and "gas" the Centipede. The other way is to "drown" it with water, which is what I did here :)

How long do you leave it submerged and how long does it stay sedated once out?
Also how do you know it’s ready to come out? Obviously at Some point it would die

I've been told to leave it in for 30 minutes. This specimen started to twitch its legs about 10 minutes after I took it out. And I'm honestly not sure how to tell when it's ready to come out, as they behave as if they've been knocked out after about 5-10 minutes inside, but I don't want to take any chances.... @NYAN may be able to tell you, as he's more experienced with Centipedes than I am.

How bad would a bite be from this guy?
From what I've heard, it's absolutely awful. I own species in the genus Poecilotheria, Cyriopagopus, and Chilobrachys, and I'd rather get tagged by any one of them than this. Do a quick search of bite reports, and you'll realize that this is an animal you do NOT want to get tagged by.
