Tliltocatl albopilosus [molt sexing] [1/3]
Tliltocatl albopilosum Moult. I think it's female?
Sorry, but all these pictures are too blurry and too far away and the moult needs to be properly unfolded.
Also, please give a proper description with every pic you post and include the size of the T.

Hi sorry that I didn't give the info you wanted but I don't know what info I should have included.

The Tarantula is about an inch long. Hasn't eaten since I got it. The shiny blackness of the Abdomen led me to believe a moult was due.

The exoskeleton was small and I found it difficult to open out fully.

I edited your photo to show the area that needs to be in focus and more spread out. Is 1" the length of its carapace and abdomen, or is it the diagonal leg span? The DLS is the measurement we need.

If you're open to advice, I like soak to my molts in warm soapy water for a couple minutes, then I use two small pairs of tweezers to unfurl it. I have really shakey hands so I use a stack of books as a tripod of sorts.

If 1" is the body and not the DLS, this might be a female, but we need a clearer photo to confirm. If the DLS is 1" then it's still too small to tell. Hope this is helpful!

Hi asunshinefix

Thanks for you advice it is greatly appreciated. The 1" is the DLS. This molt has disintegrated now and it was very small.
I will follow your advice to soak the next molt and focus photos on the area you circled.

Once again thanks for your help.

Glad to be of assistance! This molt was too small to really tell anyway, and now you've had a practice run :)
