No, L3-L4 sounds like the norm for this species, my Apophysis is 2.5 inches and is currently L2 so

Thanks for your input dark abyss. Have you got a picture of its underside? I did measure it and its about 2.5 inches also I think I got carried away! Would a male have a similar looking feature but it may stay the same size as the spider grows, I think its called the gono slit. It will be great to see other pics for comparison I will ask my friend to post who also has a L2 appophysis 👍

Ah great, The lips look alot clearer on yours! I will try sex mine soon to let you know as I have the L1 mout to look at. Do you know if you can sex them from L1 moult? Cheers..

I am not sure if it's possible to check the molt for the parts at L1, but it's definitely worth a try! Can you send pictures of the molt if possible? Thanks.
