They're pretty easygoing. Ours are in a 20 gallon tank with several log hides and some artificial foliage to hide in, though a lot of them are typically out. Make sure you have a very secure lid, though. This tank has a clamped-down screen top. As for food, these guys are pretty famous for being our garbage disposals and eating all the leftover bits of fruits and greens from feeding the other critters, and plenty of places offer roach staple food that works well sprinkled on their fresh foods. They are super easy to coax onto a hand with food, which is what I do during our educational demos.
Thinking of getting one for my daughter, she loves our feeder dubias. Do they require moist substrate? Or would dry coco with a shallow water dish be ok?
