"Scratchy" on his way
"Scratchy" (H. versuta) being packed for his breeding trip to Melbourne. I am told that he arrived safe and sound today. He will rest a little before his rendezvous with a girl called "Medusa".
@RoachCoach, my wife dubbed him so because this last week, first thing in the morning when she used the spare room she kept hearing him scratching around his temporary plastic container. Lap after lap, he's probably completed a marathon. Time to breed.

Nice to see people starting to breed species other than A. robustus. Seems FWs have been growing a lot in popularity recently.

@Staehilomyces, I was almost considering it myself, having two adult H. versuta females (might be a next year's project). With two egg sacs in the wings (Atrax sutherlandi, and an Arbinitis sp.) and two other people more keen than I to do it now, I sent him on.

In the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed, I may be in the position to attempt the breeding of another species. One that I don't currently hold.
