Giant Vinegaroon (Mastygoproctus giganteus)

This big vinegaroon was in my collection for several years until it died from old age a few months ago, they´re truly amazing!!!
It's pictures like this that pull me into other types of inverts. Are those just big chonkin' front legs like pedipalps or what?

@CommanderBacon get one! Those are it’s pedipalps/claws and they use them to crush food. You won’t regret one , big, almost always hungry, and built like tanks. You’d have to actually try to step on it or crush it to kill one.

@mantisfan101 yes i was always that red. Her coloration when a ling was dark brown (almost black with brigth red pelps and it turned redish brown as it grew, indeed, by now I´m not that shure that it is M. giganteus (Maybe some other species?). Unfortunately the genus is not quite well studied and surely a good taxonomical review is needed.

What I can tell is that this specimen descends from a population distributed in the Tropical Decidual Forest along the Pacific coast of mexican states of Colima and Jalisco.
