The big girl, out and wandering about because I had neglected to throw her a bone in the appropriate timeframe. Feeding complete. All is neat. She's tucked away in her burrow, lid closed, to dream her sweet dreams well into the morrow.
@Dave1969 nice! I think my 2 girls are around that, one is definitely a few mil smaller than the other though. @Rhino1 kindly provided me a third presumed sub-adult male, and he is about 2 thirds my females size.
Tell me, is this one a very active hunter or a shy recluse that takes a week to catch anything? I got one of both lol
I am also lucky that she built an observation burrow, down one side of her container, all on her lonesome so that I can check her out even when the trapdoor's shut.
My E. Turrificus, who I thought that I'd never see again, once she curved her chamber beyond the straight in 15 cm of substrate, has also created an observation portal.
@Dave1969 none of mine have made a web window yet, but I do get to see my Turrificus catch food and fling dirt balls out the lid sometimes. I actually got her capturing a cricket on camera too which was awesome
@RezonantVoid, I have only seen E. turrificus with her turret lid slightly ajar. I am happy for the window. My eldest son became the first to see her hurl substrate balls today.
