Not a tarantula!

Thank you for all input on my previous post! We do, indeed, have a wolf spider. Still not sure what kind and would like to know if we should continue to care for it or if it would be better to let it go?
If it came from south america, I'd keep it. I'm assuming it came from a very different climate than you have in Montana, I highly doubt it would able to survive winter outside.
 
I don't know the species, but that is one cool looking spider! Nice score, especially for a wine shipment!

Do not under any circumstances release a nonnative animal outside. You probably won’t be able to identify it past genus, if even. How large is it?
 
Definitely keep her, don't risk introducing nin-native species. She might have mites or something on her that could have a negative impact. She's a real nice score though
 
@Arthroverts it almost looks like a Tigrosa aspersa imo. But it looks too gray to be one. Unless it’s a male, male Aspersa’s are gray.

They’re mainly found on the east cost of America. But still a good find to get!
