Arbanitis sp. Glenreagh. Found on our jobsite among many other abandoned and dead holes, presumably due to dehydration. The soil is dry down to a foot deep with the lack of rain we've had
While the high gold species in this genus are always beautiful, I also think the low gold/rust carapace species look super adorable
 
When I read about spider rescues, I picture the Ghostbusters’ emergency response vehicle with a spider image on the side, and the weird siren wailing.
 
You always seem to get these at a good size, most I get are much smaller. Ive seen some crackers on YouTube though
 
@Rhino1 I will admit she's probably smaller than what she appears in this photo. My absolute largest is that striped monstrosity from Mt Tambourine that's almost 50mm from fangs to spinnerets. The majority I find are usually about 20-30mm, and I have 2 more that are at 45mm.


As for the siren, I can just imagine some horrible kazoo rendition of All Star :p
