@Drea The seller has bought the tarantula himself as the tarantula was only 1 year old, but he could not remember the exact year of purchase. The tarantula was sold as "female" by the first seller so the tarantulas exuvium must have been examined by microscope by the first seller.
Now I am interested if the tarantula is really a female.
@Drea from what I have researched Grammostola pulchras and Grammastola pulchripes males can live up to 8 years and dont mature till about 6 or 7 years of age.
@RandallD The OP says the seller said the T was about 6 or 7 years old and the T is at 5’5”. My guess if all that is true, you would see that it was male at this point. But that was just an educated guess.
@Drea at that age tibial hooks should be showing and the boxing gloves also unless it hasnt had its last molt yet. But i dont know how big males get but females about 7 to 8 inches so I'm guessing maybe female cause it's still got a couple inches of growing to do and I dont see Male parts but I'm still new to T's but done a lot of research on pulchras pulchripes and actaeon as they are three I own.
@RandallD one of the reason why I don’t have many slow growers in my collection. This one looks more female but on most species, I prefer molts if I can get them.
