Avicularia purpurea?

Avicularia purpurea?

Definitely not purpurea. CEC will know, he's owned more than me. Hard to tell for me in that light, the colors are washed out.

I've owned merianae, and it doesn't resemble them either, but I have less experience with them.

I have to disagree here, it's a purpurea... The lighting and greenish color is misleading... An easy way to tell these two species apart in pictures is the tarsi color pattern (most often used to identify the mature males).
Avicularia juruensis of have the classic pink toes Avics are known for, whereas, purpurea do not... 👍

he lighting and greenish color is misleading
very misleading...got me...that's why I appealed to a higher power...lol.

Thanks a bunch for the info...I was certain it was the hobby ulrichea based on that carapace....never even looked at the toes...haha

your purpurea is labeled northern type...can I assume there is a southern as well? And how would they be distinguished.
