TBH, the whole genus is a mess IMO. The biggest distinguishing feature for a braunsheseni is their size. They grow beyond the 5.5/6" max of the Avic Avic, and so probably an element of waiting involved anyway. 7" or more can be expected for an AF Braunsheseni
Yes I agree. They are very mixed up and I wouldn’t be surprised if the species hasn’t been further muddied by crossbreeding (whether intentionally or not) due to similarities. I will find out next molt most likely as she is about 5” right now. She was/is bald When I got her so I think I’ll get a better idea when she molts
Looking at mine she has a little red but not near as noticeable/pretty as yours! Oh well, worst comes to worst I paid $120 for an adult female avic lol
You mean Avicularia avicularia M2 lol. Agreed, it's a mess and it's only compounded by the fact some of these species/locales might not enter the hobby again with F0 blood SHOULD the taxonomy finally be resolved.....
I'd agree with that....looking again, i cannot really tell if yours has a black abdomen or if its got red hairs.....I am not suspecting its an M6....aka metallica...

Once it molts I’m hoping to see more of her colors, I don’t suspect she was taken great care of. I actually have a metallic too! The body on my particular specimen is much more blue than this girl. Based on the setae which is mostly white/grey I wondered that too, if it was part metallic
