Avicularia avicularia or A. metallica?

@seagull It looks like Avicularia avicularia to me, although Avics can be tricky to identify from photos. (Their coloring is somewhat variable.)

There is actually some debate about whether A. metallica is actually a separate species or just a morphotype (variation) of A. avicularia. For now, A. metallica is a nomen dubium.

Whether it's a separate species or a morph, the pictures identified as A. metallica tend to look a lot more grizzled (grey-tipped).

avic avic, or the guyana, should have red hairs on the rump...metallica has a black rump along with the white tipped setae...this appears to be metallica.

@CEC

I just figured the camera angle didn't show the setae well.

Thanks for chiming in, you are always a big help and a wonderful voice of reason:)
