Avic. sp

Got this from the petstore the only description was pink toe.
Maybe an Aviculria metallica? Either my eyes deceive me or I see the white tipped setae.

My only single avic is an urticans, and that resembles it a lot. I call it my fuzzy avic, haha. Colors a little different, mine has distinct purple, but setae display looks very similar.
My metallicas seem to have a blue underneath tint that I don't see there,BUT-guarantee Bob has seen more spiders than me,don't discount that guess as well.

Lol, I'd almost bet money you've seen more spiders than me;)

With that said, I was under the impression that urticans was a bit more purpleish?

Bottom line, it's very hard to accurately ID Avics, with the exception of a few species.

On an afterthought: How large is it? Also it could be in premolt, so the colors could be faded until the next molt.

Ya,my urticans def more purple than that, just the fuzzy look seemed similar.
I have a pic posted, moments postmolt,of a versicolor, was asked if it was an unusual color variation, but I think it was just off-colored from the molt process,so you could be on to something there.

not very big. Its about 2" . It has a greenish tinge to the carapace And there is some purple on the abdomen also there are white tips on the hairs

So, basically, wait a molt, and if it is more tinted blue than its probably an A. metallica, and if it's tinted purple than an A. urticans. Disregard the color right after a molt, I would look at it a few weeks after the molt, and if your still not sure, you could always post again. It could always be a different species... At 2 inches, it may not even have its true colors yet lol. Avic ID's are always complicated, mostly because the genus is so screwed up.

If it stays relatively green it could be Avicularia sp. "Kwitara River". This is an undescribed species, just google it and you'll see a really green Avic with white-tipped setae and a reddish abdomen. Although, this is a very rare Avicularia species so I kinda doubt it.

Edit: Oh man, researching it a bit more, it looks almost identical to Aviculria sp. "metallica green". Still not 100% though LOL.

Also-there is a variation of the A. avic with the white tipped hairs, yes? Seems like I recently remember seeing them"for sale"somewhere. Could be a glorified attempt @ higher prices, but I dunno. There was/is an actual name, just can't remember. VERY good pic, btw.
