A genic molt sexing
I ripped it shortly after taking the pic trying to open it up more. Not sure if this is clear enough.
I think I'm seeing lady parts, but it's too blurry to be sure. I'm like 70% confident in that answer.
It would be so nice if you're right. In person, I could see *something* but I wasn't sure if it was flat, so it could have just been bunched up molt. I am so bad at opening these molts without ripping and tearing. I should investigate a service that can do it for me and send me the pics back!

It can be such a pain trying to unfurl a molt! I like to soak mine for a few minutes in warm water with a tiny bit of dish soap, and then I use a small pair of precision tweezers in each hand to manipulate it. If you're in the market for tools, you can find some pretty useful tools in the nail care section at the drugstore.

Edit: I also take my photos through a magnifying glass. My hands are super shakey so I use a stack of books as a tripod of sorts.

Thank you SO much. I have been using pins because that's how I'd seen other people do it, but incorporating tiny tweezers would probably work better, and I never wouldv'e thought of that. I'm not the most adroit person, especially around delicate material like exoskeleton. I have multiples of a few species and would like to start paring those down once I can confirm a female for myself!!

No problem! I'm super clumsy and took me a couple years to get my method down - it definitely gets easier with practice. I hope you've got some females too!
