H. gigas taking a swim. She hangs out here most of the time and has not dug a deep burrow after being in this enclosure 4 months
One of the more interesting behaviours this species of tarantula exhibits, that's for sure. Have you ever tried feeder fish for her?

As a bit of a side note as well, the substrate looks pretty dry and these do appreciate a little bit of moisture. That may have something to do with not burrowing, but it's hard to judge.

I guess the time is right to try fish. Ive been keeping a close eye on the water and it hasnt developed fungus. Maybe from the spider stirring it!
The soil underneath the surface is moist, you cant see it here. I am being careful with it for that fungus reason. I over dampened my M robustum and got (harmless, thankfully) mites for a while. She has a starter hole but she just prefers to be poolside!
