Wooden Enclosures

I want to start building my own display vivariums, and wondering if you think wood is a good medium for it? Ideally the front would be glass, and the other 5 sides would be made of wood. Personally I enjoy woodworking and have some skill with it, and think I could make the outside of the enclosure just as terriffic as the inside (withot taking away from the inside.)

Im concerned about using wood sealer because of the high humidity and general moisture that will be trapped in the substrate, and worried the wood sealer will fail quickly. Not to mention the fact that its toxic.

Any ideas or input? Maybe using a melamine interior would work, or perhaps mdf board?

Idk about that, I'm just thinking with the humidity and all, you would have more issues than are worth dealing with. Use plexiglass...
