Wild tarantulas

    A member of another board I post on just got back from a couple weeks in Ecuador. He posted up some pictures of various snakes and spiders he saw. Here's the two tarantulas he took pics of.



    I'm pretty sure the first one is an Avic Avic, but no idea on the second one. I thought it looked awesome though, and others would enjoy it.

    I've spent a couple hours trying to find another picture of one that looks like it. No luck so far. He's curious as to what kind it is as well.

    Second one looks to me like a venzualen tiger rump I can't spell today

    Exactly. Maybe H. Formosus?

    IDK what they mean in that page with Sp. 2

    Looks close, but those look like they have much more color on the legs.

    As far as I know, that usually means it's possibly undescribed or in the process of being described. Pretty sure it's not H. formosus, though.
    I think the first one might be Avicularia hirschii, but definitely not Avicularia avicularia.
