which Opistophthalmus is this?

got it for 10.00! at the IRBA show in San Mateo on saturday......all the vendor told me was that is was a tri-colored hissing scorpion.
looks like it might be gravid too?

Honestly, I don’t know. I would guess O. glabrifrons. A lot of these Opistophthalmus look very similar and species can have a wide range of color. I haven’t kept Opistophthalmus in a long time. Maybe someone else will have a more definite answer. Anyway, that was a sweet deal for a great looking scorpion.

I would say glabifrons as well! Got one myself. Pissy little things. That is a great price. They are great ambush preditors. Give it enough substrate to build a burrow , a rock and it will build multiple tunnels under the rock and ambush prey. Very cool to watch! Have fun!
