Hi. I live in middle TN. I'm an hour south of Nashville. I'm looking for nearby locations where scorpions have been spotted. I realize it may be too late to find any this year but I can always use the info to look next year. I've read they live in pine forests and rocky areas near water. The 2 species I know have been spotted in TN are Vaejovis carolinianus and Centruroides vittatus. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

That would be the place to go if I weren't wanting to see scorpions in the wild.

Vaejovis carolinianus can be found pretty much anywhere in between the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau and the western slopes of the Appalachians. You can check pine forests pretty much anywhere in that area and you should find some eventually.

Centruroides vittatus is a bit different as they are known only from introduced populations in TN. They seem to come in shipments of wood and lumber, especially those used in barbecue restaurants.
