I'm planning to catch one of multitudes of very small jumping spiders on a riverbank near my house (due to their tininess I think they're very young, I'm no expert), what do I feed them? Can they eat a small moth or is that too much?
Probably too much. At most you should shoot for something about the size of the spider, with somewhat smaller being better. Jumpers can take down bigger prey items, but it's not their first preference.
