i was wondering what you guys think. i bought this about a month ago. i have an idea of what kind of scoprion this is , but i was wondering what your input is. the guy who was selling these had no idea what genus or sp. this is. i thoght it would be neat to have it correctly identified. sorry about the streak of light from the scanner.

My first impression was Leirus quinquestriatus. Do they have the elongated 5th tarsal segment, though? If not, I'm going to have to go with Centruroides of some sort.

Cheers,

Well, my first impression was not Lieurus, it was rather closer to Isometrus or even Isometroides. After a closer look, it appears closer to a Centruroides scorpion as well. With that length of a tarsal segment though, man, I am scratching my head because it's way too long of a segment to be of a female and if it were a male of that genus, all the segments should be more elongated rather than what they are.

adios,
edw. :?
