What do you do with your molts?

I loved bringing molts into the classroom when I was in college and leaving one on an empty seat as I walked to my seat. Wouldn't take long and someone, usually a girl would just absolutely freak out. Made me laugh so hard.

I usually trash them because I rarely get any that have the correct parts intact for sexing.

The others I try to sex then trash.

Unless it gets completely shredded, I typically make shadowboxes with them. I've gotten pretty good at fixing messed up molts as well.

But what do you plan on doing with them? Surely you don't intend of just keeping bunches of jars full o' empty shells?

I imagine one day jars of molts stacked everywhere in the house to my chin, with just small walking paths...ever seen Hoarders??

Thats why theyre always so darn itchy...huh.

I put them back together and pin into a shadow box. I'm working on a cool one with a female g pulchripes. I have her first two molts preserved in their own shadowbox, and will add to them as she molts. Pinning is kinda old school, and allows me to move them.
