Do all of your work in the bath tub. Make sure that the drain is closed and that there is no place for the t to escape. If the t get out and starts running, don't worry about it. It will stop pretty soon. I keep a large vial for my sling that I use for corraling purposes. Once the little guy stops running, I put the vial in front of it and coax it into running into it. Then I turn it right side up and go about my business until I am ready to put the t back into its enclosure. Then I just tilt the vial, a cup would be fine, and let the t slide gently back into its home.

For moving them, I sometimes cool em down in the refrigerator for a few mins...
It does'nt last long, but it slows them down for a while.
For cleaning the water dish, I use really long thongs to remove, and replace it.
