Ummidia experience?

I picked up a 1" O.A.L. Ummidia spp. today & am wondering how others have fared in keeping them. Received my specimen in a 8" cylindrical, acrylic container with 4.5" of substrate (95% coco, 5% sand), nothing else. It hasn't burrowed yet, even after 2 days according to the dealer.

What kind of time frame should I expect until I see it has "disappeared"?
Also, do they bother to eat much when above ground? I don't wish to cause a problem tossing a cricket in before its burrowed if that is a cause of stress.
Any pointers for keeping these?

They won't eat above ground, so the cricket would really stress them out.

You can try giving it a starter burrow, use a pencil and poke a couple holes in the substrate and see if it takes to any of them. The substrate might not be right for it, but I admit I'm not super familiar with trapdoors in general and my track record with them is less than stellar (I want to say it needs some clay?).

@Aphonopelma81 has had tons of success with Ummidia and other trapdoors, so he'd be the guy to know. I think they've slowly been becoming more popular, so more people may have experience with them now too.
