As I realize, individual reactions vary, as does the amount of venom injected. I was transferring a female into her new container by hand, and was nipped on the base of my thumb. It was surprising, because her attitude towards me had always seemed docile. For a while, it felt like a bee sting. After maybe 4 hours though, I began to feel a type of uncomfortable cramp through my arm. Although quite annoying, the pain disappeared after a few more hours. I didn't notice much swelling. The effect of the bite didn't last more than a day, so not very powerful compared to other true spiders. I certainly didn't let her bite for very long though!
