The bite occured when I pulled out the 6-8 inch T.blondi at an arachnid presentation back in Feb/Mar.
As she moved about, she paused for a moment on my hand, positioned her fangs, and then dug in to my right thumb.
We believe that she may have been simply using her fangs for support, however, she did break the skin and the fangs went in approximately 1/8 of an inch?
After that, she continued to crawl about without incident.
I experienced a tiny bit of itching but that was the extent.

Tonight I went to pet my juvinile theraphosa blondi:evil: It immediately wrapped it's legs around my index finger and planted it's fangs, but didn't inject any venom. The sensation was a very light, warm sensation, with feelings of burning and numbness lasting around 30 minutes. I've never had a T show any sings of defense like this before, although this was my fisrt atempt to handle this one bare-handed.
